Man charged with first-degree murder in Barrie death

BARRIE, Ont. - A 51-year-old man has been charged with murder after police say a man was killed at an apartment in Barrie, Ont.

Police say the 52-year-old Barrie resident died late Saturday night in the city's north end.

His name has not been released, but police say he was involved in a disturbance call earlier that night which was resolved without incident.

Police arrested a suspect who was taken to hospital for mental health concerns but later released.

Ernie Bruce Richards is charged with first-degree murder.
