Father who shot into car containing his infant son gets up to 9 years.

Myers, 27, became enraged when his child's mother arrived at his house with a new boyfriend, it was said in court.

Myers fired 10 shots from a .380 caliber handgun — five struck the ground; the other five struck the car's hood.

"His own 17-month-old was inside" the car, prosecutor Randall L. Miller said in court. "I don't think he should get credit for being lucky" no one was hurt.

Lancaster County President Judge Joseph Madenspacher ordered a 4.5-to-9-year state prison term.

Madenspacher said Myers has serious anger-management issues, but he didn't think there was intent to kill anyone.

"I don't think for one second that you wanted to shoot those people," he told Myers. "If you wanted to do that, you wouldn't be standing here — you'd be on trial for murder."

Stanley Hollis, the boyfriend at the time, and the child were inside the car. The child's mother, Jessica Stallions, was outside the car. Stallions told the judge Tuesday she still wishes to have contact with Myers.

While in prison, Myers sent a threatening letter to Hollis, who also was locked up on a parole violation. Myers was charged with felony intimidation.

Hollis, in court Tuesday, said he's still fearful of his life.

"That was the first time in my life I've been shot at," he said, standing next to Myers. "I'm scared to death of it."
